How Asahikawa ski gear rental works

From booking online to hotel delivery or in-store pick-up and return, there are three steps, and booking takes about 5 minutes. Below we explain the time each step takes, the collection options and things to note.

Quick answer: the rental process has three steps - book online and choose your gear, dates and collection method; receive free hotel delivery the day before check-in or pick up in store and confirm sizes; and after your trip have the gear collected from your hotel or returned to the counter. There is no queuing to choose gear on site.
  1. Book online and choose your gear

On the Rental Plans list, choose your gear type, size and rental dates, and choose your collection method (hotel delivery or in-store pick-up). Enter each person's height, weight and your hotel so staff can prepare in advance. We recommend booking at least 3 days ahead; during the peak season (December to February) popular sizes sell out quickly.

  2. Hotel delivery or in-store pick-up

If you choose hotel delivery, a member of staff delivers your gear to your hotel or guesthouse front desk the evening before check-in, free of charge, so you never need to visit the shop. If you choose in-store pick-up, come to the counter at [Address TBD], Asahikawa, show your booking number and ID, and staff will help you fit your boots and confirm ski length. If the size is not right, you may exchange once free of charge during opening hours (subject to same-day stock).

  3. Ski, then return your gear

After your trip, hotel-delivery gear is collected from your hotel front desk on the morning of check-out, so you never need to visit the shop; in-store gear is returned to the same counter by the agreed time. Staff check the condition of the gear. Returns within 2 hours of the agreed time are free; beyond that, a fee is charged pro rata - see the FAQ.
